About Iteko Special School
Established in September 1986, Iteko Special School is a public LSEN school based in Rustenburg, North West Province, under the North West Department of Education. Led by Ms M. Moeng, the school caters to learners with severe to profound intellectual disabilities, providing holistic support and specialised remediation for those not coping in mainstream schools.
With a focus on inclusive education, Iteko offers a unified primary and secondary learning environment, where learners share facilities for activities such as art, beadwork, needlework, and crafts. Small class sizes and personalised teaching ensure meaningful progress, while a strong emphasis on life skills and extracurricular development helps learners grow into confident, capable individuals who are prepared to contribute to society.
Our admissions process considers the overall abilities and unique needs of each learner, ensuring the right support is in place for their success.
-

Encourage and indicate a sense of ownership, teamwork, co-operation, moral values, and ethical principles that are conducive to learning.
-

-
We are preparing our learners to be equipped with necessary skills for world of work.
SGB 2025
Meet our school Governors
Our School Governing Body (SGB) is made up of parents, educators, non-teaching staff, and learners who work together to ensure our school runs effectively and in the best interests of all learners.
The SGB helps set important school policies, such as admissions, language, religion, and learner conduct, and also oversees the use of school property and resources. By involving the community in decision-making, the SGB plays a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
We encourage all parents, staff, and learners to get involved and support the work of the SGB together, we build a stronger school.
